My art feels so stale. I feel like i reuse compositions, angles, and elements way too much in my art. More importantly, I feel like my style is drifting down a direction that I'm not too comfortable with. Is my stuff too anime? Sometimes I feel like it is. Not that it's a disrespectable thing... the reason my art drifts toward it now is because I obviously like it, and a lot of my influences come from it, but I don't want MY art to look like it. I used to be fairly confident that my style was unique enough to stand out, but I'm starting to feel like I'm losing that edge...

This is just insecure ramblings, not a plea for flattery or anything. Just the musings of an artist that's in the same place I think we've all been several times. I'll probably be doing a few extreme works in the near future to try and figure out what I need to make my artwork feel fresh again. I've gotten a few good suggestions, and I may try them out.

What usually works for you guys?

UPDATE: IT'S FIXED NOW YAYAY!! <3 Thanks all so much.

Ok, Photoshop is doin' something really lame. And I'm sure it's my fault. I fudge with the color profile of my monitor this weekend trying to get a dual screen system to work, but ended up not keeping it, and put all my settings back to normal (or so I thought).

I've been working in Photoshop and kinda noticed my color palette was a bit duller than usual, but I sorda brushed it off and chocked it up to my eyes being funny (HAH). But it turns out I WAS RIGHT. When I save for web, it picks up its usual perky and bright colors. Except since I was trying to make up for the dullness in the first place, it's even more gay and rainbowtastic than I intended (which is not always bad).

STILL, I'd kinda like to be able to see the colors I put down be the colors that people will be seeing in the end.

Someone please help me, I am a color profile retard. 8 ^8 What do I need to do??

Thank you so much for all the discussion and suggestion on costume ideas. I'm TOTALLY in love with the idea of going as Toph from Avatar. I'm thinking I might just go as Miss Swan for Halloween because I'll be more easily recognizable, and do Toph for AKon. I are thinking ahead. O_<

ANYWHOO. To the topic at hand. I'm changing a minor detail in how I do commissions. <3 This probably won't effect most of you, but instead of going through them in order, I'm going to do them more or less at random. Because sometimes I can sketch things but I don't have access to a computer to paint. So it'd just seem more efficient to not restrict myself to an order, so I can work on multiple pieces at a time, just at varying stages. I think this will speed things up in general.  

So with that being said. Waiting list go poof. *POOF*

This only effects you if you haven't sent me commission details yet. ^_^ Naturally, if you've already given me information, this means I can get started whenever I want, and will give you a better chance at having it completed earlier. It's not necessary, because if I do get to yours and don't have any info, I'll just ask.

So I'm determined to not be ill-prepared for Halloween this year, like I am EVERY SINGLE YEAR. I've always wanted to cosplay something, so this is a good excuse. I only have one problem.

I have no idea WHAT.

Hahahahah. It's almost a case of there being so many possibilities I don't even know where to start. Being from a game company I feel like I should pay some sort of respects and go as a game character, but my BRAIN IS FARTING I can't think of anything. :<

I've always wanted to do a cosplay of Aika. But sweet lawd the HAIR. ; 3; That's more than I could take on my first try, I think. I need something a little simpler. I also thought about Ms Swan from Pirates, because I am a pirate as well, and here here to all pirates. I just worry that I don't really have the right face shape to pull that off. Her face is so much taller than mine.

Anyone have any suggestions? I know there are more awesome girls out there that I just can't seem to think of. I'm seriously just braindead tonight.

UPDATE!: Holy crud! Commissions are closed now. Even though I said I wouldn't take a waiting list, I'm accepting all who noted me last night, since I wasn't awake to make an update and let you guys know it was closed. <3

Soooo ... I'm feeling incredibly ambitious at the moment, and want to open up commissions again. I'm really trying to save up some, and I really do enjoy doing artwork for people when I can. It makes me really happy when people like the result, and I very much enjoy the challenge of capturing other people's characters.

I will provide a disclaimer though. Because I do have a job, it may take me a while to get to your commission. If your looking for something quickly, please state so specifically in your request, and I will try to determine if it's something that's within my capabilities. Sketches, or not-illustration commissions will naturally be quicker, and I can fire those off much more rapidly. ;D

I'm only accepting 5 at a time, so as soon as 5 slots are filled, they will be closed until I finish one and another slot opens up. I prefer not to make waiting lists, because they tend to be overwhelming and I get intimidated easily. :<

I live! X_X I wish I had arts to prove this... but here I am.

I apologize for the lack of well... everything lately. The lack of deviations, the lack of comic, the lack of general updates and commenting. Thank you all for the favs and watches and such lovely comments while I was gone. You're all too sweet.

The past couple months have been a blur. I've been incredibly wrapped up in work for multiple reasons, but one of which is possibly the best reason I could ever ever possibly imagine. I can't say what it is for a while, but there will be news later on it. <3

Things will hopefully be getting more on track soon, and I'll be able to balance my time better, so you'll be seein more of my crazy face.
